Emanue "Manny" Millar began cutting hair and making over people in his backyard at the age of 8. He went to Beauty College right out of high school and  at 19 opened his first salon in Whittier, CA followed by another in Pasadena.

 

At 24, Manny closed both salons when he met his wife Cynthia and made the decision to enter the film business.

 

Manny spent the last three decades as a hair stylist and designer in the film industry. He has worked on a multitude of projects, shaping and creating the images of some of the industry's most memorable characters such as Cameron Diaz in Being John Malkovich and Angelina Jolie in Girl, Interrupted.

 

Early on, Manny moved around the country with his wife and three children from Los Angeles to Montana for a project with Lou Diamond Phillips and Fred Gwynne, and once again to South Carolina to work on The Abyss.

 

While working with Bill Murray on What About Bob, Manny and family settled in Atlanta for 10 years, where in between film projects he became an image consultant and mentor for actors and artists.

 

 

Manny is now based in New York City with his wife and 2 of his grown children, Cate Millar and actress, Steven Millar just out of the Army and daughter-in-law Alexandra Millar an actress. He also keeps a place in Los Angeles. Manny's third child Peter Millar is a scuba instructor in Kona Hawaii.
